As a working Mum running a seven day business, Little Miss 6 year old spent a lot of her six years behind the counter with Mum. When I sold my business Little Miss was in the shop with mum on a handover day to the new owner. In the final minutes as we were departing the business, leaving the new owner behind the counter Little Miss became very agitated and visibly upset, she didn’t want to leave. Fascinated by insects, my 4 year old son began collecting the critter-frozen-in-perspex advertised on TV. He took the first 2 (and only ones we will be collecting out of 74!) and presented the spider and scorpion to an equally spellbound class for Show & Tell. When we asked him over dinner what his presentation was like, he said “Great! I told them about the insects and where they live, what they eat.
